Kingwood Church of Christ Medical Apartment Ministry maintains five fully furnished apartments conveniently located near the Texas Medical Center. We offer a comfortable, affordable, “home away from home’ for patients and their families during medical treatment in Houston. We are located at the 8181 Med Center apartment complex, 8181 Fannin St. in Houston. This is a gated complex with security and many amenities.

We work closely with four other Houston area churches. Anyone needing housing should register on our shared website, www.InSpirithousing.org. We all require a minimum 2 week stay, and have a strict no pet, no smoking policy. None of our apartments are “Handicap Accessible”, but are easy access and are easy to get around in. There is a MetroRail stop across Fannin from the entrance to the apartment complex with stops at various hospitals in the medical center.

All of our apartments are located on the first floor, and have a fully furnished kitchen and a washer and dryer. Each apartment has a nice living area with a sofa that makes into a bed, a comfortable recliner, and desk. There is a dining area, a streaming TV in the living room and in each bedroom and an outdoor patio with seating. The bedrooms and bathrooms are furnished with linens and towels. All utilities are paid, including high speed Internet and Wi-Fi.  We have the following units:

• one 1BR/1BA unit with two single beds for $45/day
• two 2BR/1BA units with two single beds and one queen bed for $55/day
• two 2BR/2BA units with two single beds and one queen bed for $60/day 
  

At check-in, we require a payment of at least 14 days rent, along with a $250 refundable security deposit. The deposit and any unused rent will be refunded after departure, assuming the apartment is left clean and ready for the next guest to check-in. Initial payment at check-in may be made by cash or check on site. If you wish to use a credit card or debit card, that must be done in advance through our church website, www.kwcoc.org/apartment-payments. Future payments may be made online or by mail.

Our Church regards this as a “Kairos” opportunity to serve and help people in a time of real need in their lives. Romans 12:13 “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality”. We try to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable and let them know we care personally and demonstrate our love with encouragement cards, calls, and prayers during their stay.

Our apartments are maintained by a team of volunteer apartment managers that share in the duties and can assist if you have questions.
