Kingwood Church of Christ Medical Apartment Ministry maintains 8 fully furnished apartments conveniently located near the Medical Center. We are housed in the 8181 Med Center complex, located at 8181 Fannin. This is a gated complex with 24 hour security and many amenities, located 1.8 miles from MDA. We offer a comfortable, affordable, ‘home away from home’ for out of town patients and families during treatment in Houston. We work closely with 5 other Houston area churches. Anyone needing housing should register on our shared website, www.InSpirithousing.org. We all require a minimum 2 week stay, and have a strict no pet, no smoking policy. None of our apartments are “Handicap Accessible”, but are easy access and are easy to get around in. There is not a shuttle service available.

All of our apartments are located on the first floor, and have a kitchen equipped with basic needs for meal preparation, as well as a washer and dryer. Each apartment has a nice living area with sofa that makes into a bed, a comfortable recliner, and tv. There is a small dining area, as well as an outdoor patio with seating. The bathroom and bedrooms have linens supplied. Tenants only need to bring clothes, food, and any personal items they need. All utilities are paid, including cable and wi-fi. 

We have four 1BR units, each having 2 single size beds, renting for $45/day.  We have two 2BR/1B units that rent for $55/day.  We have two 2BR/2B units that rend for $60/day.  The second bedroom in each of the the 2 bedroom apartments has a queen size bed.  Each apartment has a tv in one bedroom. 

At check-in, we require a payment of at least 14 days’ rent, along with a $250 deposit. Keys, gate card, and parking permit are issued. The deposit and any unused rent is refunded after departure, assuming apartment is left clean and all issued keys, etc, are returned. Payments may be made by cash or check on site. If you wish to use a credit card, that must be done in advance through the church website. Future payments may be made online or by mail.

Our Church regards this as a “Kairos” opportunity to serve and help people in a time of real need in their lives. Romans 12:13 “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality”. We try to make our tenants feel welcome and comfortable and let them know we care personally and demonstrate our love with cards, calls, and prayers during their stay. Directions to KWCOC from 8181 Med Center:

From the apartments, the easiest way on a Sunday morning to drive the 31 miles is to: Turn right onto Fannin St when you leave the apartment complex. Continue to bear right about one-half mile so you stay on Fannin St. Turn right onto Old Spanish Trail at the Shell Station Drive about 1.5 miles thru about 4 traffic lights until you cross over Route 288, then turn left at traffic light onto Route 288 north. Stay in the right two lanes and go about 2 miles until you see signs for 59 N to Cleveland, then carefully merge from the right two lanes onto 59 north. After getting onto 59 north, get into one of the two left most lanes and head north for about 21 miles. Note: 59 is the same as I-69, you will pass IAH airport on your left and city of Humble before your next exit. About 5 miles north of Humble, look for sign for Kingwood Drive Exit. Take Kingwood Drive exit, get in right two lanes and go about 1.1 miles on service road until you come to a stop sign. Turn right at light onto Kingwood Drive; stay on Kingwood Drive for 2.2 miles in left lane. At Woodland Hills Drive traffic light, turn left onto Woodland Hills Dr, stay in left lane. Drive 4-5 blocks then turn Left onto Willow Point Drive and you will see our brown brick building. Drive 1 block and turn right into entrance to church; park in visitor parking in front of church. The address is 2901 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, TX, 77339.
